Frequently asked questions

Do I have to book the Scrovegni Chapel in advance?

Yes. Advance booking is compulsory, because only 25 people go in every 15 minutes. Online bookings close the day before your visit, so choose your date and slot ahead and book before the places go.

Can I book for today?

No. The chapel does not take online bookings for the same day. The earliest date you can book is tomorrow, and popular slots often fill well before that.

How long does the visit take?

About 30 minutes for the chapel: fifteen in the climate-controlled waiting room, then fifteen inside. Allow time before for the ticket office, and after for the Eremitani museums on the same ticket.

What does the ticket include?

One timed entry to the Scrovegni Chapel, plus the Musei Civici Eremitani on the same day. From Tuesday to Sunday it also includes Palazzo Zuckermann, which is closed on Mondays that are not public holidays.

When should I arrive?

Be at the ticket office in the Musei Civici agli Eremitani, Piazza Eremitani 8, at least 30 minutes before your slot to collect your ticket. Then walk the 100 metres to the chapel and be at its entrance at least 5 minutes early.

What happens if I'm late?

You will not be let in. The doors open once for each group to protect the frescoes' climate, and a missed slot cannot be moved or refunded. Build a margin into your day, especially if you are arriving by train.

Can I cancel or change my booking?

No. The chapel's tickets are non-refundable and cannot be changed to another date or time once booked. Please check your date, slot and fares carefully before you pay.

Who can use the 65+ fare?

Citizens of an EU country who are over 65. Bring an ID card or passport showing your age and nationality, because staff can ask to see it. Visitors over 65 from outside the EU book the adult fare.

Who can use the student fare?

Students with a valid student card, including university students of any age and students of art academies. Bring the card with you. Visitors aged 6 to 17 have their own fare.

Do children need a ticket?

Children under 6 go free. Tell us their ages in the notes when you book and we add them to your booking at no charge; they still take a place in the 25-person slot. Ages 6 to 17 book the ages 6–17 fare.

Can I take photos inside?

Yes, for personal use, without flash, lights, tripods or other equipment, and without touching the walls. Many people put the phone away for the fifteen minutes and simply look up.

Can I bring a bag or backpack?

Not into the chapel. Backpacks and bags go in the cloakroom or the lockers (44 × 31 × 46 cm) at the museum first. Suitcases and trolleys are not allowed in the museum, so leave them at your hotel or the station.

My date isn't on sale yet. What can I do?

The chapel releases day slots in batches; the current batch runs to 10 February 2027. Pick a later date in our calendar and hold it on our waiting list with no payment. When the date can be booked, we email you a secure payment link.

My date is fully booked. Is there a waiting list?

Yes, ours. Choose the date and leave your details with no payment. We keep checking the chapel's system for your date and write to you if a place can be booked. If nothing opens, we tell you and suggest the nearest open days.

When is the chapel closed?

On 25 and 26 December and 1 January, and from 16 to 27 November 2026, when the Istituto Centrale per il Restauro carries out its yearly check of the frescoes. Our calendar greys out those days for you.

Is the chapel accessible for wheelchair users?

The operator publishes no detailed access information for the entrance pavilion. Email us before you book and we will ask the ticket office about your needs. Visitors with disabilities and a companion are admitted free under the operator's rules.

Who are you?

Scrovegni Chapel Ticket Concierge, an independent booking service. We are not the chapel or the City of Padua museums. We book your slot on the chapel's official system and send your e-ticket by email; our price includes that service.
